Come What May and Love It!

I would be very ungrateful if I did not recognize the amazing day that I have been having. I had my last book of mormon class today with Brother Baggett. He is an amazing man! He told us a story that I wanted to share. *** There was a member of the seventy that at the time was an ambassador for the country Bulgaria. One day he got a call from the White House saying that there was a man who had requested to see Mormon sites in DC. The man waited for him at the temple visitors center where he was met by police motorcycles and several black limosines. The man who wanted to see the temple was the Prime Minister of Bulgaria. He was greeted by two sister missionaries and given a 45 minute tour of the visitors center. He was then asked to see the movie "The Testemants" if he would like. He was a bit hesitant and seemed a bit irritated but he watched the movie and afterwards accepted a copy of the book of mormon. When things wrapped up he finally exclaimed, "I did not want to see around this building. I want to go inside that one!" as he pointed to the temple. The sister missionaries explained that only members of the church who are worthy can go inside because of the sacred covenants that are made there

that seal our families for time and all eternity and things like that. It started another 45 minute conversation that resulted in a 3 hour trip to the temple visitor's center. The Prime minister went back to his hotel and two days later called up the same member of the seventy. "I know I cannot go inside but may I just touch the building please?" After saying yes the man waited at the temple and once again saw the parade of police cars and black limosines. This time only the Prime minister got out and walked over the the temple. He bowed his head and put his hands on the temple walls and stood there for some time. With tears in his eyes he turned to the man and said "Someday I will go inside this building. Thank you for everything you have shown me." Six weeks later it was issued that Bulgaria had been opened to missionary work and that same Prime Minister was the same that came and visited Washington D.C. This work is amazing and the Lord is preparing the way.

We also were able to watch the talk "Come What May and Love It." It is amazing how happy that talk can make you feel. It has been a hard week getting ready for finals and getting ready to move back home. When we look at life from a perspective that it is better to live happy and lauging than dwelling on the past. We can take anything that is good or bad and love it. We have the savior who knows exactly how we are feeling to help us get through our hard times. I know that even though I tell myself sometimes that there is no upside to what Im going through, there really is. I have so much to be thankful for, I dont see how I can let anything get me down.

Jer got kissed by Wolverine!!

Last night was a very rowdy and somewhat violent. We were all sitting around contemplating important things and carly's freind came over. They were talking about some different things and then me and Jer heard them mention that if one of your roomates dies all the other roommates get "A"'s (even though I know that is completely ridiculous) and so Jer and I started a death match so that we could all have A's. She got a kitchen knife and I got my Iron and we chased eachother around for a long time. Finally it got to the point that I had to chase Jer into the bathroom to protect my life and as she was running her arm hit every single light switch and something else on the way to hitting the floor. It looks like she was cut by wolvering and all bruised. It is pretty sweet looking. We learned that violence is not the answer ..it leads only to destruction and that you don't get A's if your roomates die.

Hey! My name is Heidi Anne Baker. I am 19 almost 20 and a student at BYU-Idaho. I love it here soooo much. This is a wonderful time to be alive!!!! Life is so great and how blessed am I to have such an amazing family involved in the gospel of Jesus Christ. I have amazing parents...Mike and Dawneen. My dad is a Physical Therapist and the most spiritual person I know. I have learned so much from him and I marvel at what an example he is to me. I am a definite daddy's girl. I think of him and start to cry I just love him so much. It was quite pathetic how much I cried when I said good bye to my dad when I left for college. I hyperventilated and shook violently....my dad handled it well. Then theres my beautiful mother. She is a substitute and my best friend in the whole world. I tell EVERYTHING and we have so much fun together. I heard someone say once that there was a possibility we chose our families in the pre-existence and I wouldn't doubt me and my mom were dear friends and wanted to be together. Then there are my siblings. Ryan is almost 16 and a total stud. I love him so much fun and he is such a good boy. I love talking to him and he loves me :) I was so happy when he became taller than me cause now we can dance in the kitchen and he can catch me and stuff.

Adam is the biggest 14 year old goofball I have ever met. We tell eachother everything and hang out all the time. His freinds love me. Im the coolest big sister ever haha He is the biggest punk and is never serious and can get away with everything and anything. It drives me bonkers. He is a kick butt soccer player and knows it too haha. Joseph is a very very caring boy. He loves dinosaurs and drawing. He is crazy good at it too! He likes to do outdoorsy things and be active. Joseph is definately my snuggle buddy :) I love him so much. Hana is the youngest and the cutest girl I know. She is a natural flirt and loves anything and everything that has to do with pink, makeup and boys. She calls me all the time and I love her phone calls because it will get to the point where I can put her on mute and she will talk for about 5 minutes and then ill say something like "Whoa thats cool" and then she'll talk for 5 more minutes. I have to laugh sometimes because my parents get to raise her hahahaha she will be a super fun teenager.

We have moved all around the country about 9 or 10 times. I love moving and getting to know more and more people. Yet, what I love most is that my family has learned to rely on eachother. We have done lots of things with eachother and understand the importance of spending time with eachother.

I am an elementary education major with a chinese minor. I am really excited to become a teacher. I love little kids and they can teach us the most amazing things :) I have decided for now to be a 1st grade teacher and I am so excited. In the fall of 2010 my best friend Lindsey and I are going to China to teach english to small children in boarding schools. I am scared out of my mind but I know I am excited.

As I am starting my journey of life on my own I am learning lesson after lesson. I love the gospel. I know the my redeemer lives and that he loves me. I am not alone. What a wonderful time to be alive.
